Anquan Boldin - WR - Arizona Cardinals

According to ESPN's John Clayton, Anquan Boldin (questionable, ankle) looked "great" on the practice field Friday and is expected to suit up Sunday against the Bears.

Clayton concedes Boldin's injury is "very close" to a high ankle sprain and that he's officially a game-day decision, but most signs point to him facing Chicago. The Bears host the Cardinals in a 1ET PM game Sunday, so we'll know Boldin's status around 12ET. He'd be impossible to bench if he's active.

Jamal Lewis - RB - Cleveland Browns

Jamal Lewis reiterated Wednesday that he plans to retire after this season.

Lewis said the same after last week's loss to Chicago. We suspected it was a "heat of the moment" declaration, but Lewis seems serious now. If Lewis quits, the Browns will only have Jerome Harrison, James Davis, and 2009 undrafted rookie Chris Jennings under contract at tailback through 2010.

Brett Favre - QB - Minnesota Vikings

Brett Favre told Peter King that he suffered a groin injury in practice last Wednesday, aggravated it in pregame warmups on Sunday and wasn't sure if he was going to be able to play.

Favre did play and the injury didn't bother his performance at all as he tossed four touchdown passes in the impressive win at Green Bay. He told King that his groin was bothering him on the way home but that he'd be fine, especially with the Vikings on a bye this week. All hail the great Favre, who is even tougher than we were led to believe.

Donald Brown - RB - Indianapolis Colts

Donald Brown was added to the Colts' Week 9 injury report as "questionable" after missing Friday's practice.

Brown was a full participant on both Wednesday and Thursday. There's no way to tell if he had a setback, but he'll be a game-time decision against the Texans. Joseph Addai's Week 9 value is directly dependent on Brown's status. If Brown is inactive, Addai is a high-end RB2 play because he'll operate as an every-down back. If Brown plays, Addai is a mere flex option.

Antonio Bryant - WR - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Antonio Bryant admitted Friday that he has experienced more swelling in the knee he had surgically repaired in training camp. He did not practice Friday.

Bryant, listed as questionable, will be a game-day decision against Green Bay. "The swelling puts stress on the quad, which isn't good, especially for my position where I'm running and cutting," he said. Coach Raheem Morris also admitted that it's quite possible Bryant will have to sit out Week 9. Avoid all Bucs skill players this week as Josh Freeman makes his starting debut.

Donald Driver - WR - Green Bay Packers

Donald Driver (stinger) returned to Packers practice Friday and is listed as probable for Week 9.

Driver has been cleared by the Packers' medical staff. He sat out on Wednesday and Thursday, but looks ready to start against a very porous Bucs secondary (8.7 YPA against, over two passing TDs allowed per game).

Bob Sanders - DB - Indianapolis Colts

Colts placed SS Bob Sanders on injured reserve with a torn left biceps, ending his season.

His season ends with three tackles and a pick in just two appearances. Beat reporter Philip B. Wilson speculates that the Colts will cut their losses with Sanders in the offseason to free up salary. 29 in February, Sanders is scheduled to make $2.275 million in 2010. The 2007 Defensive POY has played in just 27 of a possible 64 games over the last four seasons.
