According to multiple reports, Todd McLellan will maintain his position as the head coach of the San Jose Sharks going into next season.
CBC's CBC's Elliotte Friedman reported that McLellan was told three days after the Sharks were eliminated from the playoffs that he would be back in 2012-13 behind the bench. The team is projected to be make changes to their assistant staff though, with former San Jose players Mike Ricci and Bryan Marchment being mentioned as possible replacements.

Wideman had a rough showing in the playoffs, with no goals, three assists and a minus-7 rating in 14 games, but he enjoyed an excellent offensive regular season in 2011-12 while scoring 11 goals and 46 points in 82 contests. He also averaged 23:54 of ice time per game and posted 113 hits, with 132 blocked shots. Wideman could be a sought-after defenseman if he chooses to test the free agent waters.
It looks like Peter Harrold will draw back into New Jersey's lineup on Wednesday in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
He worked alongside Anton Volchenkov during the team's morning skate and rookie Adam Larsson appeared to be the extra defender. Harrold also practiced with the Devils' second power-play unit. He hasn't played since Game 2 against Philadelphia in Round 2, but has four assists and a plus-2 rating over nine postseason matches.

According to Dallas Stars goalie coach Mike Valley, Kari Lehtonen's undisclosed injury at the World Championships isn't serious.
"They're still looking at everything, and there has been a lot of communication between doctors there and our trainer," Valley said. "They're not 100 percent sure what the injury is, but I've been told it is not a serious injury." Lehtonen was hurt after a collision with American forward Bobby Ryan on Sunday and won't play again in the tournament. He will look to recover over the summer.
Milan Hejduk doesn't appear to be willing to hang up his skates just yet.
There has reportedly been some ongoing dialogue between him and the Colorado Avalanche and that is where the 36-year-old veteran would prefer to stay. Hejduk has played all 991 of his career games in the NHL with the Avalanche and is slated to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. However, it is uncertain if he would play for another team or choose to retire if he isn't in Colorado's plans. Hejduk posted a career-low 37 points in 81 games in 2011-12.
Tomas Vokoun understands that his days in Washington are probably over.
The 35-year-old netminder is scheduled to hit unrestricted free agency in July after he signed a one-year deal with the Capitals last summer. "I wasn't planning on being back here anyways," said Vokoun. "For me, it was never intention to be here more than a year." His return likely wasn't in Washington's plans either due to emergence of Braden Holtby, mostly during the playoffs, and the fact that Michal Neuvirth also under contract. Vokoun said that he is healthy now, after he ended the 2011-12 campaign on the sidelines with a groin injury, and his agent commented that his client's preference is to stay in the NHL despite rumors that he may head overseas for the KHL.
