Jy Bond - P - New York Giants

Giants signed P Jy Bond.

A former Aussie Rules player, Bond is likely nothing more than a camp leg. Even with the Giants and veteran Jeff Feagles at a contract impasse, both sides expect him to return for the 2010 season.

Kevin Curtis - WR - Philadelphia Eagles

Eagles released WR Kevin Curtis.

Together with Darren Howard's release, the moves will save the team almost $10 million in salary and bonuses this year alone. With Jason Avant locked in as the slot receiver, Curtis no longer had a role on offense while bringing no value to special teams. After spending all of last season nursing a knee injury, Curtis is facing questions about how much he has left in the tank this offseason. His best bets for a landing spot are a return to St. Louis or Mike Martz's offense in Chicago.

Kenneth Darby - RB - St. Louis Rams

Rams signed exclusive rights free agent RB Kenneth Darby.

The move comes on the same day that free agent Willie Parker visited Rams headquarters. Darby is stretched as a No. 2 back, so the team is trying to upgrade this offseason.

March 18, 2010 - 5:25 PM ET
Chris Massey - RB - St. Louis Rams

Rams re-signed LS Chris Massey.

Massey's season ended in October after he tore the ACL in his left knee. If he can get up to speed by the start of preseason, the 31-year-old should regain long-snapping duties.

March 18, 2010 - 5:10 PM ET
Darren Howard - DL - Philadelphia Eagles

Eagles released DE Darren Howard.

He was due to earn a $1M roster bonus Friday on top of his $3.5M salary. The Eagles' 2008 sack leader (10) managed to play in just 10 games last season, which led to the recent Darryl Tapp acquisition. Now 33, Howard can still get after opposing quarterbacks. He should draw interest as a situational pass rusher on the open market.

March 18, 2010 - 5:00 PM ET
Eric Smith - DB - New York Jets

Jets re-signed SS Eric Smith to a one-year, $1.176 million contract.

Smith was tendered at the third-round level, which was prohibitive for a move to another team. He'll enter the season as insurance behind a fragile Brodney Pool at strong safety.

March 18, 2010 - 4:35 PM ET
Kevin Hobbs - DB - Detroit Lions

Lions re-signed CB Kevin Hobbs.

Hobbs received the low tender from the Lions, which means he's slated to earn just over $1 million this year. He'll be limited to a special teams role with little time in the secondary if he makes the team.
