4. The big dance for Tom Izzo now means a theatrical career he has embarked on for charity. What other coach would you pay to see performing a song and dance on stage?

Your question presumes I'd want to see Tom Izzo sing and dance. I love the theater. I've seen somewhere north of 40 shows on Broadway. I'm not sure I'm ready for what Tom would do to that. I already know I can never watch Risky Business again after seeing Bob Knight in boxer shorts.

That aside, I'm going to go with Pitt's Jamie Dixon. He was a commercial actor when he was a child and still is a member of the Screen Actors Guild. He's got experience. I'll attach my hopes to that.

5. How legit will Mississippi State be considering a couple of its latest recruiting victories?

It remains very difficult to say. We don't know if the Bulldogs have back center Jarvis Varnado, the best shot-blocker in college basketball. He has entered the NBA draft and has more than a month to decide whether to return.

We don't know if 7-2 center John Riek will be healthy enough to excel. He had knee surgery last summer, and his progress has been slow. The NCAA has been examining whether he will be eligible, and the process is complicated enough. Cincinnati excused itself from recruiting him even after securing a signed letter of intent.

We can't be sure what will happen with Renardo Sidney, the 6-10 power forward from Fairfax High in Los Angeles. The NCAA routinely examines the eligibility of high-profile prospects, and Sidney's situation is interesting to say the least -- enough so that both UCLA and USC ceased recruiting him. The Trojans did so after they had secured a public commitment.

If all three somehow wind up in the lineup with point guard Dee Bost and shooters Ravern Johnson and Barry Stewart, the Bulldogs could be Final Four-good.
