The Ducks have been red hot lately and Hiller's been a big part of that. Although he had a shaky first half of the season, Hiller has allowed two or fewer goals in 12 of his last 14 starts.
The Anaheim Ducks will take on the Detroit Red Wings Friday in the start of an eight game road trip.
The Ducks have moved to within 10 points of a playoff spot, and considering they were 20 points out five weeks ago, they have made terrific progress. But Anaheim has not been a good road team as their 6-11-6 record indicates. They have to turn it around on this trip or the trade rumors that have been haunting the team for the last couple of months will persist. Stay tuned.
The Anaheim Ducks are 11-2-2 in their last 15 games.
Anaheim is still eight points out of a playoff spot and there odds of overcoming that gap are extremely slim. Still, at least their is hope for the Ducks were there was none before. The Ducks second half performance might motivate GM Bob Murray to stay quiet during the 2012 trade deadline in the hopes that his current core will lead Anaheim to the playoffs in 2012-13.

Saku Koivu scored his 10th goal of the season on Wednesday.
Koivu has 28 points and a plus-10 rating in 45 games this season. Look for him to maintain his current pace for the remainder of the season.

Corey Perry scored the game-winning goal in Anaheim's 3-2 overtime victory against Carolina on Wednesday.
Nick Bonino and Saku Koivu each scored a goal for the Ducks. Lubomir Visnovsky, Andrew Cogliano, Matt Beleskey, Luca Sbisa, and Sheldon Brookbank each registered an assist on one of Anaheim's three goals.

Jonas Hiller saved 31 of 33 shots in a 3-2 overtime victory Wednesday.
Hiller has been forced to play in over 60 minutes in each of his last three starts. He has a solid 2-0-1 record over that span and is 8-2-1 from Jan. 13 onward.
Anaheim coach Bruce Boudreau has been very pleased with the play of defenseman Francois Beauchemin.
"There aren't too many guys I'd trade him for right now," Boudreau said after practice Tuesday. "He's doing everything he can to win. I think his team leadership is second to none." He leads the Ducks in blocked shots with 116. Beauchemin has also been credited with 106 hits this year, while chipping in six goals and 18 points in 52 games.
