Jonathan Stewart (heel) returned to Panthers practice Thursday.
He'll be active Sunday, and is a quality flex option against the Jets.
Tyrell Sutton has moved ahead of Mike Goodson on the Panthers' depth chart.
It doesn't say a lot for Goodson to lose out to an undrafted rookie, but Sutton can play. He's a good pass-catcher and the Panthers even used Sutton (5'8/213) at fullback in an emergency during the Week 9 loss to the Saints.
Panthers LB James Anderson is getting ready to start on the weak side against the Jets this week.
The Panthers have lost both Thomas Davis and Landon Johnson for the season, thrusting Anderson into a starting role. The special teamer is expected to pair with Jon Beason and Dan Connor if Na'il Diggs (ribs) can't go. Thomas Jones is a borderline RB1 this week.

Jonathan Stewart (heel) was held out of Panthers practice Wednesday.
Missing Wednesday practices is routine for Stewart, as his owners are well aware of. He'll be back to practice later this week and play against the Jets.
Panthers SLB Na'il Diggs (ribs) could miss Sunday's game against the Jets.
The Panthers are paper thin at linebacker. With both Thomas Davis and Landon Johnson on injured reserve, they could be forced to start Dan Connor and James Anderson at the two outside linebacker spots this week. It's a nice matchup for Thomas Jones.
Panthers placed LB Landon Johnson (knee sprain) on season-ending injured reserve.
Johnson is the second Panthers' starting WLB lost to injured reserve in three weeks. Dan Connor, last year's third-round pick, is the favorite to take over for Johnson, though he's spent much of his time with the Panthers practicing inside. James Anderson is also a candidate.
Panthers signed LB Jordan Senn.
Senn spent time with the Colts earlier this season when Gary Brackett was injured. He'll add depth at linebacker, with Dan Connor and James Anderson needed on the weak side.
