Billy Yates - G - Cleveland Browns

Browns re-signed G/C Billy Yates.

A former backup in New England, Yates will swing between the interior positions if he makes the final roster in September.

Peyton Hillis - RB - Cleveland Browns

According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Terry Pluto, the Browns "really like" RB/FB Peyton Hillis.

Hillis displayed a Mike Alstott type of skill-set as a rookie, which will fit in well with Eric Mangini's run-heavy approach in 2010. Hillis will be used as a physical complement to Jerome Harrison, and the Browns will likely add another back in the draft. Josh Cribbs and Seneca Wallace will also see plenty of Wildcat action.

Jake Delhomme - QB - Cleveland Browns

Jake Delhomme says he "was not guaranteed anything" by the Browns upon signing a two-year deal with the club over the weekend.

Well, except $7 million in the first year. "I want to make that perfectly clear," he said. "I was guaranteed the chance to compete. Very simple. There were no guarantees whatsoever." President Mike Holmgren, however, has made it even more clear that he doesn't want an in-camp QB competition. Because of his contract, Delhomme looks to have the upper hand on Seneca Wallace.

Derek Anderson - QB - Cleveland Browns

KTAR Sports 620 reports that the Cardinals will sign free agent Derek Anderson on Wednesday.

If the report is legit, Matt Leinart just caught a big break. Though big-armed, Anderson is perhaps the most inaccurate passer in the league and dealt with serious confidence issues throughout his final two years in Cleveland.

Blake Costanzo - LB - Cleveland Browns

Browns re-signed exclusive rights free agent LB Blake Costanzo to a one-year contract.

Costanzo, 26, led Cleveland in special teams tackles last season. While he's not a contributor on defense, he should be able to retain a roster spot.

Marcus Benard - LB - Cleveland Browns

Browns re-signed exclusive rights free agent OLB Marcus Benard to a one-year contract.

Elevated to the active roster last November, Benard was an immediate hit. The Jacksonville State alum racked up at least a half-sack in each of the last four games, including a two-sack performance in Week 14. With Kam Wimbley gone, Benard is currently positioned to start at weak outside 'backer.

Chris Jennings - RB - Cleveland Browns

Browns re-signed exclusive rights free agent RB Chris Jennings to a one-year contract.

Jennings, 24, mysteriously (until you consider the coach) jumped ahead of Jerome Harrison at one point in the second half of 2009, but Harrison's production ultimately became too hard to keep off the field. A third-string caliber runner with some third-down value, Jennings will be on the roster bubble. He's not nearly as talented as Harrison or James Davis.
