Mario Williams - LB - Houston Texans

CBS Sports' Pete Prisco expects free agent DE/OLB Mario Williams to become the highest paid defensive player in the NFL if he hits the open market.

Williams has the No. 1 overall pick pedigree, the measurables, the age (just turned 27), the versatility, and the production to incite a feeding frenzy once the cap-strapped Texans pass on the franchise tag at $22.9 million. SI.com's Don Banks suggests the Bills, Jags, and Bucs as the top three suitors, with the Packers as a wild card. We've also seen the Chargers and Raiders connected to Williams.

Mario Williams - LB - Houston Texans

Rivers McCown of Football Outsiders believes the Titans will make a run at free agent DE Mario Williams if he hits the open market.

The Titans have $35 million in cap space available, but a good portion of that money will go towards retaining CB Cortland Finnegan and additional team free agents. If Tennessee decides not to address defensive end on the open market, a pass rusher will likely be a top priority with their first-round pick.

Texans Offense - TM - Houston Texans

Texans hired Karl Dorrell as quarterbacks coach.

Best known for his rocky tenure as the head coach of UCLA, Dorrell worked alongside Gary Kubiak as the Broncos' WRs coach from 2000-02. He spent the past four seasons as a Dolphins' assistant, coaching WRs from 2008-10 and QBs in 2011. He'll be tasked with furthering backup QB T.J. Yates' development as Matt Schaub comes back from a serious foot injury.

Mike Brisiel - G - Houston Texans

Free agent RG Mike Brisiel wants to re-sign with the Texans this offseason.

A former undrafted free agent out of Colorado State, Brisiel is a zone-blocking guard and system fit in Houston. He probably wouldn't attract any interest from teams that run other schemes. "Everybody saw how close we were, and we know what it's gonna take to get over that hump," said Brisiel, 29. "It's gonna be a fun thing to be a part of. I hope I'll get a chance."

Justin Griffith - RB - Houston Texans

Former Texans and Falcons FB Justin Griffith has retired from football and taken a quality control coach job with the Raiders.

Griffith, 32, got the job thanks to longtime pal Greg Knapp, under whom he played his entire career. Knapp is Oakland's new offensive coordinator. Griffith lasted seven seasons in the league, finding a niche as a versatile fullback in Knapp's zone-blocking offenses. He scored 13 career all-purpose touchdowns.

Arian Foster - RB - Houston Texans

Restricted free agent Arian Foster made it clear Thursday that he wants to stay with the Texans.

On the prospects of a long-term contract, Foster said, "Hopefully, they can make my dream come true, because I just love the city of Houston, man. I really do." Foster will draw the first-round tender if the sides can't reach agreement. Ideally suited to a zone-blocking scheme, Foster has more value to the Texans than other NFL teams.

Mario Williams - LB - Houston Texans

BuffaloBills.com's Chris Brown doesn't believe the Bills will make a run at impending free agent OLB Mario Williams if he hits the open market.

The Bills need to improve a pass rush that tallied just 29 sacks in 2011, and a move to Buffalo would put Williams back in a 4-3 defense. The Bills aren't prone to bidding wars, however, and that's what will surely develop if Williams is allowed to walk. Sports Illustrated's Peter King said Monday he believes Houston is "seriously considering" letting Williams hit the open market.
