Derrick Rose will be the NBA MVP according to a report by Bulls beat writer K.C. Johnson, but he had a rough night in Monday's Game 1 loss, hitting just 11-of-27 shots for 24 points and tweaking his ankle on the game's final, irrelevant play as the Bulls fell to Atlanta at home 103-95.
He says the ankle is "fine," and not like the sprain he suffered against Indiana, adding that he will be okay for Game 2 with treatment. We'll track it, but it would be shocking if he doesn't play, though it can't possibly help him with his new Jeff Teague problem. Teague kept him out of the paint, and we're guessing Rose takes a more assertive approach in Game 2. After all, while Teague played well, he's not going to hold him down every night.
