J.J. Barea set a career playoff-best 21 points in the Mavs' 121-112 Game 1 win over the Thunder on Tuesday, hitting 8-of-12 shots from the field (including two threes) to go with three rebounds and an assist in just 16 minutes off the bench.
He torched the admittedly pathetic defense of Nate Robinson, among others, but this performance isn't coming out of left field at all. Barea is a legit scoring option even at his size, and teams have not been effective in backing him down in the post on the other end. Jason Terry added 24 points with four treys and Jason Kidd handed out 11 dimes in the win.
