After the NBA said (via the Boston Globe) that the NBPA canceled Wednesday's scheduled meeting, the players sniped back saying that it was the owners that canceled it, instead.
The meeting was unlikely to carry much weight with the Hall of Fame induction ceremony right around the corner, and neither side wanting to degrade it with news reports of stagnant talks. And since David Stern lied in the initial report, quipping that each team pays an average of $5 million to its players (only seven teams do that), we'll assume he was equally credible with his remarks about the meeting, too.
